HOCHSCHULE PFORZHEIM – GESTALTUNG, TECHNIK, WIRTSCHAFT UND RECHT (HSPF)

Hochschule Pforzheim is one of the biggest and most recognized universities of applied science in Germany. About 6000 students study in a variety of national and international study programs on bachelor, master and PhD levels at the school of design, the school of engineering and the AACSB-accredited business school. Besides its outstanding connection to regional and international companies, the university features several well-established research institutes. At the university’s Institute for Industrial Ecology a large team of engineers, natural scientists and economists work on interdisciplinary research topics in the areas of circular economy, life cycle assessment, sustainable innovations and technologies as well as sustainability accounting and reporting.

The Institute is involved in numerous research projects funded by third parties (BMBF, BMU, state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, industry funds, etc.). Research results are included in the development of professional tools and software, which are internationally applicable. At Pforzheim University the Institute’s research is furthermore deeply integrated into study programs on resource efficiency (B.Sc), life cycle & sustainability (M.Sc.) and resources and energy (PhD).
